The Plain. Simple. WordPress theme


Current-status: submitted to the WordPress repository and awaiting approval.

Description: “Plain. Simple.” WordPress theme is, as the name suggests, a really simple and minimal WordPress theme. Its features include:

  • Ability to display links to facebook and twitter profiles.
  • Completely responsive(using css3 mediaqueries) theme. Based on a custom framework.
  • HTML5 + CSS3
  • Compliance to latest WordPress standards.
  • Small theme options panel that allows for selection of highlight color.

Download link wil be provided as and when them gets approved by WordPress theme review team.

The idea struck me like lightening! A twitter-like web-application with the ability to write full length blog articles! Yes! That will be my college Web Engineering project!

The number of exclamation marks in the preceding paragraph are intended to convey how excited I was when I first thought of it two days back. I instantly trashed my old simple blog project and started work on the new idea. The basic idea is to make it like a proper APP. No page refreshing. Everything will be done by AJAX! AcmeTech(beta) – new wordpress theme

Acmetech has finally started to take shape. And although it is still in beta, you can view the theme here.
Few things like captioned images are still left to be styled. Also remaining to be added is a theme options page which will provide the option to change the base color of the theme among others. Tabs on the home page articles are another feature that is on the waiting list.
The completed features include orbitron font, dual slider integration and a overall techy feel.
The beta of the theme will be available for download soon.

Workshop on Web Design

IEEE-TSEC is having their annual tech fest ISAAC on 25th Sept, 2nd October and 6th October and i have been honored to have been invited to take workshop on web design basics on all 3 days. The timings are 1500-1730 Indian Standard Time and the workshop will be held in premises of Thadomal Shahani Engineering College. I’ll be covering basics of HTML and CSS in the workshop. A .pdf document will be provided to everyone in the workshop and will also be made available on my website if anyone wants a personal copy.

I plan to cover the following topics in my workshop:

  1. What is HTML?
  2. “Hello World”: the first HTML page.
  3. Basic HTML tags, attributes, values
  4. <a> tag
  5. CSS Syntax
  6. Building the Web Page

WIP – unnamed theme

So, today I continued work on my yet unnaned wordpress theme. The nivo slider is still not in place. Will have to revise the plugin size code tomorrow. Other changes made to the theme include:
1. Properly styled the older/newer posts button.
2. Revised the header code after going through the toolbox theme.
Theme preview coming soon. Stay tuned.
